Eight days after the birth of our Savior, St. Joseph witnessed the shedding of the first drops of Christ's redeeming Blood.  He grieved for this suffering of Jesus and Mary, as well as over their future torments on Calvary.  From St. Joseph we can learn to make reparation for sin through prayer and sacrifice, and to trust the Will of God especially in our worries, for the thoughts of future adversities did not prevent St. Joseph from doing all he could in the present to comfort and adore the Redeemer of Mankind.
