Many good souls are faced with the overwhelming temptation to discouragement. Discouragement can cause us to lose courage and discontinue our pursuit for holiness. Mother Mary Bosco reminds us that when we fall, instead of only contemplating our weakness we should look to our Good Shepherd, Who laid down His life to save us. We are to take courage in His ability and desire to save us, and in the realization that we are infinitely loved by Him.
