When a soul is striving for holiness, they must be cautious.  The devil often misleads good people to believe that certain acts such as fasting, long prayers, and even great mortifications are sanctity, but these are simply a means to an end. 


In this conference, Mother Mary Bosco explains what Our Lord and the saints teach about attaining true holiness.  Mother warns us of the stumbling blocks, particularly illusions and overeagerness, which the devil will try to place in our path to prevent us from reaching true union with God.
